Where the pieces are created: the Laboratory
The main working phases with the lathe are:
- Accurate clay positioning on the lathe.
- Base opening.
- Walls modelling.
- Shaping.
When the piece has reached a reasonable consistency (the so-called "leather hardness")
it is ready for the "final touch".
After the drying process has been completed, the piece goes through the first cooking
phase (at about 960°) in suitable kilns.
Then it can be decorated or enameled and eventually cooked a second time
by using various techniques (Majolica, Raku etc.).
